To love and be loved, you MUST open yourself up, you MUST make yourself be vulnerable.
Much of the time you are going to fail, fall smack dab on your rear.
It’s just part of the “game”.
I know you’re hurting, I know it sucks to open yourself up to someone and then things don’t work out.
Unfortunately this time it didn’t work out. But, I assure you, that at some time it will.
(Yes, I subscribe to what Brené Brown has to say....to have love we must open ourselves up to the possibility of pain.)
