Well, music acts as an outlet for emotions... A mix of genres... I mainly care about lyrics Let's say mainly Folk, Punk, Rock, Metal, Country, and similar. In croatian, english, german...

I like so many kinds of music for different moods and emotions; rock and pop for fun then reggae. Like folk music like James Taylor, jazz, Christian, Hawaiian for calming though. So many more music loves

My feel good/calm down/restore me music is usually emotionally tied, so it will change with the tides, but right now it's:

Pony - Ginuwine
certain emotional Christian Contemporary songs (esp. ones we play in church that make me sob uncontrollably like "King of My Heart")
Tropical House
Electro Swing

for a while it was yoga/meditation/kundalini music
and this really aggro K-pop hip-hop song called "PUSS"

I sometimes need to be amped up, and others to be released and emo'd out and softened into tears

I chose "other" since there wasn't an "all of the above" option, as I can happily groove with most of the genres. However, it depends heavily on which trigger gets tripped, who pulls the trigger, the environment in the moment, and the type of stereo/delivery system that's available.

Heavy metal or acid rock when I'm struggling. I'm usually a granola acoustic/indie folk type girl. Maybe a bit of jazz. But when things are spiraling out of control, I like my music to reflect that inner chaos and strangely it calms me down.
