Hi and welcome to the forum:) I too was the black sheep when I began to face and deal with my own abuse. Went from having so much contact to none. I had to disconnect from them all. They could not deal with it. The family denial is a insidious thing and I am so sorry you are having to face that one. You are not alone.

I am glad you have worked so hard on yourself. Lots of really great people here who have been there who will understand. I am sorry for what you suffered and endured, and now suffer and endure with your family of origin. It is nice to meet you. Looking forward to getting to know you better.

I'm also separated from my family - and have three older brothers, two of whom are carbon-copies of our father, the third of which seems to have a few personalities and is just generally crazy. (He's the only one I talk to, and extremely rarely.) We have a sister who also has the multiple personalities/cruelty down. A big age difference between me and them, about 12 years. They all have children, and leave them with my parents for weeks at a time, which is a terrifying thought. You see why we'd never get along.

Sorry for all the details, I just thought it might be helpful that you and I can relate to each other's situations. I'm very sorry your family treats you this way. What they said about gay people makes me angry! :alien: I'm bi and very LGBT-proud. :)
