Hi,

I live in Lancaster County, PA, and cannot find any kind of support group, etc. out here.
Anyone else suffer from PTSD/TBI in this area?

If you're looking for support groups, Central PA is thin, isn't it? I'm in the Harrisburg area and did look some time ago, with zero luck. I was told to perhaps look into the connecting folks through Catholic Charites here- they just connect, do not do it themselves. I never did so, having found my T by then. This was some years ago, but would think they still offer this sort of thing?

I think there is something in the articles section on how to start your own support group also. I don't know if that interests you at all, but it's an idea to look into for someone with the energy. I hope you do find something, maybe with the break in this heat we're finallly having! :)

I'm from Chester County here. I'm a skip away from Lancaster County. I have yet to find any groups though.

I'm living in Lancaster County too, and have been looking for a year for a face to face group. Thanks for the suggestion about starting your own group. I've been frequenting ______ for a year, which is a pretty supportive place, but alas, computer screens are not human. It can feel pretty isolating to not have much face to face feedback. I know there are some groups in Philadelphia and Maryland but I haven't located anything here yet. Hang in there, to anyone who is still looking. You aren't alone!!

I live in York County, PA. Have you tried the Wellspan network? They have some wonderful therapists (at least at their Meadowlands offices) and they have always been very helpful when I'm trying to find information. I know they offer workshops on different things throughout the year. You may want to ask them? Your post piqued my curiosity, so I think I'm going to ask next time I see my therapist about any live-PTSD support groups in my area... If I find out anything I'll let you know. Likewise, if you find out anything in Lancaster Co., would you let me know? We're neighbors, after all... :-)

I have been searching for the longest time for a support group in Lancaster, PA. There doesn't seem to be any unfortunately. The idea of starting a support group piques my interest but not sure that it's something I would want to tackle on my own. I'm always willing to chat with anyone who has the need. Would love to hear if anyone finds anything in the area and if i find anything I will definitely keep you all informed.

Hi all I live in Lancaster County (just outside the city in Manheim Township) I would be interested in participating and *occasionally* leading a group if necessary.

Have any of you looked into Meetup.com? It's an easy way to set up a group for any kind of interest, I think you get three groups per account and it's like $150/year (you can ask for donations at each event to defray the costs).
