@SaharaSon you are the one that directed the conversation off topic when you shared unsubstantiated rumors in a thread about people that died. I actually knew someone that was there. I understand that you have a different political viewpoint, but you should not expect people to not question your information, especially when it comes from someone that is commonly believed to be Islamophobic and to be solely dedicated to promoting that agenda. If you unquestionably believe the opinions of someone when all evidence is screaming at you that their hearts are full of hatred, that makes you no better than people that act on their racism. I will not be responding, as I am placing you on ignore. I came to this thread because my close friend was at this concert, and I'm disgusted that people are taking advantage of this situation to spread hate even if it is because they are willfully uninformed.

then many deaths would stop in this form.
I may be wrong, but regardless of the reasons these people do what they do, I believe that someone so focused on these heinous crimes would figure out a way. It isn't actually that hard to get guns, or retrofit them to suit a particular purpose, if one really wants them.

Interestingly enough, Canada tried to put into place a 'Gun Registry'. We scrapped it after spending 1B dollars.
Gary Mauser: Why the long-gun registry doesn’t work — and never did

Shooting people is different that having to actually put your hands on them to kill them.
Yes, I agree with this. Domestic violence and suicides would become a little more 'sticky' for the perp. They are also more of what I would consider to be 'crimes of passion'. You know, in the moment, passionate and f*cked up. I don't know what it is to be a murderer, and most likely never will, but I do believe that when someone who is capable of such things gets their mind set, they will figure it out.

This Las Vegas shooter obviously put some thought into what he was doing. I just don't understand why he would have an arsenal of guns if he was actually planning on doing this and then committing suicide. That part makes absolutely no sense to me what-so-ever.

Bombs work well and are relatively easy to make too.

There's some information floating around to suggest he may have thought he could get away and that was Plan A. Don't know if it's true.

$5 says too many video games &/or movies. People often just don't grok how HEAVY this shit is. I'd suspect he thought he could run & gun like he was playing COD or Rambo with a stunt crew & supply trailer, and there ain't no f*cking way. Weapons are heavy. Ammo is even heavier.

ETA
It does lend credence to the idea he's an antigun martyr, though, if not just terminally stupid. I've learned not to underestimate stupid, however, so that's where my money goes.

Stupid ie spend the money buying this shit, whatever else he did in setting up this homicidal shit show, and then never actually lugging everything around training.

I read that he didn't intend to be a suicide case. He somehow thought he could get away with this.

It's all totally weird and twisted.

I will just never understand why anyone wants to kill others.

My bad, it was valium ( not vicodin). I still don't know how alcohol and valium go together ( or if they do). That explains why he was stumbling.. so drinking alcohol and valium could have been in the mix, and the reason for suicide being the only option.
