Lawsuit...would You Do It Again?

They in fact threatened what I stated, so I know it is correct. I was forced into a settlement...I don't have the energy for such immature nonsense when people just want to argue about the size of a meatball. Sorry, too old for this.

Oh, they threatened you, so that makes it correct? LOL. Lawyers threaten the other side in order to get them to cave. That's what they do. Welcome to the real world.

You spout misinformation, and then when challenged you whine and moan on several posts, insulting me and accusing me of splitting hairs, when you wrongly told someone they may be on the hook for $50k in attorney fees. I have said nothing insulting to you, yet you act like a victim and a child and continue to make offhanded remarks about me.

You say you're too old for this and you don't have the time for it, yet you continue to insist you're right and to disparage me along the way. You have the time to insult me, but you don't have the time to point to one instance of case law where a malpractice plaintiff had to pay the defendant's attorney fees? LOL.

@arbez-It sounds like you have all your ducks in a row for this. You have the proof and your attorney see's that and is confident. Your therapist is supporting of your decision, and you are a nurse and have that on your side as well. It sounds like you plan to move forward and have the strength for this. Good for you. It takes people like you to put at least a dent in the system and prevent this from happening in future. It can be empowering when it is over. There are some people that just have to do it because it feels wrong to do nothing, I am that way too.

Make sure you have a lot of support... their lawyers will bring up anything they can find to make you look bad. It took a toll on me. Also, in my effort to "prove" I was mentally injured, I think that held back my recovery for some time. Then suddenly it was over and I got a check and I really had no plans, mostly because I had no idea how long it would take and I ended up living off the money for awhile and then it was gone. If I could do that part over I would save and invest and get back to work on a source of income quicker. Money goes fast and when its gone its gone and regret sucks.

Good advice on having all the supports in place. Many people have said that it has held them back regarding their recovery. I also agree that you don't know when you are going to settle and for how much so go unprepared with any good plan.

@Pointless existence- Attacking others is a way of avoiding yourself! What you hate most in others is often exactly what you see in yourself. Please find someone else to fight with today. Im really not interested, but good luck.

I politely pointed out that your information was incorrect. Instead of debating it maturely, or heavens forbid, admitting you were wrong, you insulted me numerous times. Now you act like you're taking the high road and have the hubris to suggest that I was "attacking" you. Sounds like accusing the victim to me.
