Long Hair Care

Can anyone let me know how they managed to get from halo to au naturale? I just can't make it! I manage to let the color grow out like maybe 15 cm and then I throw a fit and dye it again! Would love to go grey actually, but grey and red, yikes!

I had the same problem and a "magnoila blossom" (fine gentile southern lady) told me their secret. She called it "rue" (spelled phonetically) but what it is is a hair color that combs in and washes out every shampoo. I would run it through and wash it every third day. I cut my hair to chin length... and when it was close enough to get a "pixie" (really short cut) to finally get rid of all the dyed hair... I went into work and boy were the girls at work surprised.

I googled and something like "Splat Hair Color" is similar to what I used. Though to be honest I can't remember the product name or the company. I did though dye from auburn to brown... because I thought it might look too fake if I tried using their red. No one knew a thing.

I also found the product I use to strip the by products out of my hair about every 4 months: Ion Crystal Clarifying Treatment“Removes build up from hair: Iron, rust, & hard water minerals
Perm odor
Chlorine and swimmers green
Spray products"

It does say not recommended for grey or white hair though, but I do it anyway and haven’t had a problem.

Hi

Wow am surprised how many of us have had to suffer our mothers cutting our hair short while sisters got favoured with lovley long hair.

Yes, I had mines shaved like a boys until well into my teens from around 9 years old. it was so damaging always being mistaken for a boy while my sister had her long, red main.

I have had a phobia about hairdressers for years and for a lot of years compulsively pulled at strands until I had bald patches (but this was once I had grown up)

Somehow I have been pull free for around 5 years and my hair is how i like it now, shoulder length. I also feel a lot more feminine and confident within myself.

All I need now is the boob job after 3 children lol

Srain, I thought that pic was you at first, and considering I already like your posts and what you have to say, I was about ready to fall in love. Oh well.
I think Srain's personality is so super awesome that her looks don't even matter :P

Cutting hair is a means of humiliation and removing individuality (think of those 'person crying while their head is being shaved' scenes in some movies?). That's also why bond-slaves got their heads shaved in the olden days, while a free person could grow their hair out.

I think that is also why they do it in the army, to start the process of breaking the person down into sub-human.

My mother once went behind my back and told the hairdresser to give me a Lady Diana hairdo, when all I wanted in the world at the time was a straight bob...and I coul dhave killed her. It took me soooo long to grow that thing out, and I hated it so much.

The funny thing is, when my hair started to grow back this time round, it was in the same hairdo from when I was a child...except I liked it this time?

OMG! I went to the hairdressers to have a couple of inches cut off my long hair, and I have ended up with a bob! And I'm not sure I like it :(

I suppose it will grow again. :cautious:

I don't think the hairdresser planned for just how curly my hair is. My hair used to be perfectly straight, over the last few years it's got curlier and curlier, but it's always been long, so the weight probably pulled the curls down. Now it's shorter, it's sprung up even shorter. I'm not even sure that it's long enough to tie back anymore!
