I love my hair, it is platinum gray, I'm 59 years old and I don't dye it. It originally came in as salt and pepper, of course, but as time went on and I stopped pulling out the few strands that were turning gray, it eventually evened out. Folks, even strangers, have told me it is beautiful. I am growing it out now, so it is about shoulder length and my bangs are starting to sit and stay behind my ears. I want my hair to be all one length, bangs too. So I shall keep getting it trimmed every few months until the bangs grow out (I tell her not to cut the bangs).
My hair was straight as an arrow when I was a teen. It was brown with red highlights, not died ones, just sunlit ones. I grew it all the way down past my waist. I used to bend over so that my hair would hang down from my head and brush it with a boar's bristle brush, that had a wooden handle. I would brush it a hundred times each day when it hung down like this, starting at one end of my head and ending at the same place after going all the way around. Folks used to tell me my hair was beautiful then too.
