I am really interested in hearing from others who have had to deal with DVA regarding claims under SCRA/MCRA. I am dealing with my husbands' claims as he is A) in hospital a few hours drive from home and B) is not well enough the majority of the time to deal with the stress associated with claims etc.

Along with several new claims I am procrastinating over sending, I am about to embark on a review for a rejected claim relating to my husbands' Sleep Apnoea. I really want to try and set up a support network to keep me focused and strong during this as well as seeking any advice from personal experience that may be relevant.

I am really over the whole Bureaucratic Bastardy that causes wilful destruction to the lives of those who have been willing to give their lives for their country.

Hey NTE, I am not going to defend DVA, but if you just look at like they are Workers Comp. After all, they are just a big medical insurance company, and there are three separate acts the have to deal with. The VEA, SRCA, and MRCA. What years did your hubby serve, and what operations did he go on???

I have investigated heaps into it, and also left you a post on the 'Introductions'. I know a lot of people who are advocates and also plan on doing that next year after some courses. So I may be able to help.

Just had a thought NTE, Sleep Apnoea is a really tough one to prove. Unless you can get a specialist to 100% state that the SA was caused by service, you won't have a chance.
Its not like the back, shoulders, knee's and PTSD. Those ones are pretty well easy if you have medical proof in your med docs.

Just a thought.
