Listening to music has always been a source of pleasure and comfort for me. I often associate certain songs or pieces of music to significant or memorable moments in my life.

For example, in 1988. sharing my walkman with a Chinese boy whilst walking through remote limestone mountains in south west China listening to Dire Straits, brothers in arms.

Or running the city to surf in Sydney, listening to Joshua Tree, U2.

Today I sent a first letter (via social services) to my birth mother, who gave me up for adoption soon after birth 53 years ago. It's a strange feeling.

I wondered if anyone had any suggestions for a song or piece of music that might seem fitting. An audio hug if you like.

Also be great to hear any one else's significant songs, and why.

Thanks

Mit

Robert miles - children. is a good piece, it feels like hope and new beginnings but with wistfulness and dreams. No words..
Or something from tchaikovsky, so sweet is his music.

I have too many songs I love but it's smell that brings back those memories you speak of for me.

Music is one of my favorite things. I have so many favorites, I could go on forever.

This whole documentary just made my heart smile, as did hearing you contacting your bio mom. May your heart be seen and felt. Thank you for giving me a reason to dig up this song and re-watch the magic. Playing for Change: Peace Through Music, "Stand By Me"

Then there's this musician named Michael Franti who rocked my world when I first listened to his albums, "Yell Fire" and "Rebel Rockers" (I think I got that second one right). I had his music in my cd player for almost a year straight. A lot of his songs rank as my favorite, but "One Step Closer to You" and "Nobody Right, Nobody Wrong" are two of the top picks.

And then there's a musician named Trevor Hall, and the song titled, "The Love Wouldn't Die". That pretty much sums up while I'm still on this Earth. Because the love wouldn't die. Each one takes me into the depths of feeling. I hope you can feel the hug in your heart when you listen. Peace.

I just thought of another one... maybe Hello by Elton John and lady Gaga? You know the song from gnomeo and Juliet. :):singing:
