I recently came out of the thick cloud of my C–PTSD. The worst lasted over 10 years with a delightful edition of opioid addiction. I have survived and I’m at currently at the point where fear is holding me back from getting a job/starting a new career. I love Photoshop so I recently purchased it with my Newly gotten laptop. I haven’t used a computer in over 10 years. But now I’m at a loss as to what to do next. I feel like my imagination needs a boost. There’s no spark there… I used to be able to access it so easily.

Can anyone relate? Any advice? I hope you’ve all accomplished this goal and beyond already :-)

congratulations on the impressive progress, smile. may the progress continue.

does having retired in 1995 count as the goal and beyond? yes, i got to retire at a luxuriously early age. i'm a farmer these days, but i still dabble and remain feeling ever so blessed for the opportunity to have experienced the boom era of our current digital madness. autocad was my specialty, but one app leads to another.

specialized classes were my favorite ticket over the absent spark hurdle. i especially benefited from the boot camps where you cover an obscene amounts of information in a few days. they wear you to a nub, but can definitely jump start a sparkless career in a short amount of time.

Great ideas! Can you give me an example?

you mentioned photoshop. a most excellent starting place. adobe, in general, is quite respected and versatile throughout the internet. i bet there are even on-line options which came with your purchase of photoshop. there is a plethora of on-line courses. real-time classes are also available.

If you’re independently wealthy you need work for raison d'etre, purpose/meaning in your life.

If you’re not independent, you need money.

Do you need BOTH, at the same time? Or can you work a money-job /jobby-job as a step closer to working a job you love? Or can you work/volunteer at a job which will net you satisfaction, and purpose, sense of self… but shite or no pay… as a step towards good money, doing what you love?

Where are you at?
What do you want?
What are you willing to do?
