What animals did you see today?

On my night walk I saw a cricket on the sidewalk and another one in a lamp post.

Bats, a rabbit, a fox, and I think a deer. Heard owls, too...

A tiny sparrow in our bird feeder

I saw a a thin snake, a koel, a bush turkey, a hare, so many birds and insects, butterflies of all types and more besides.

Saw a heron the other day… some cormorants.

Saw a small bird of prey chasing a songbird at the park this morning, extremely agile, they were inside the old tennis court, the smaller bird got away through the fence but only just, it was very close, consistently.

Looked up the birds of prey in the area, I think it was a sparrowhawk. Distinct wing shape. Never seen one before. It changed directions and steered the corners of the court faster than anything I've ever seen. Only lasted a few seconds and then it was gone. The precision was amazing.
