I would like to put forward my views having a combat PTSD Sufferer as a husband.
I know a lot of you already are members of the PTSD Forum and I think initially it is a better place to go for support.
My opinion on this forum is it offers a Supporter/Carer an insight into the difference between PTSD and Combat PTSD if you read the Sufferers Post. It also narrows down specific issues for you compared to the broad spectrum on the PTSD forum.
Please, IMHO, don't limit yourself to this forum as the PTSD Forum Supporter section has some excellent threads, articles and offers more support due to more members being there.
Coming here is learning about Combat nuts and bolts but you have to get your head around PTSD first and I think the other forum offers broader insight into symptoms, problems, difficulties, distinguishing PTSD characteristics versus abuse and so on.
I think keeping both options open will give your a better balance as a Supporter as you need to take care of you too.
