Tonto

New Here
I have come to the end of trying the deal with combat PDSD and my wife who has always supported me has now given up. I have contacted my GP and other groups and the waiting time for any treatment is 3 to 4 months. Is there any other groups who can help sooner. If I dont get help now I will loose my faimily and every thing which is still good in my life.

I'm sorry to hear that you are going through a difficult time, Tonto. My first thought would be, is there any way you can cash pay/pay out-of-pocket for therapy or treatment - at least until the waiting period is over? Some therapists do charge on a sliding scale, or may be willing to do so given certain situations. I've paid for all of my treatment out-of-pocket, which has not always been easy, but it's been worth every penny!

Depending on where you live there is a difference. Do you have a community mental health group in your area..You might be able to get short term support there. I did..but it is available in canada. Hope you can find some help soon. Use the forum to read and write and learn. We can help support but it helps to get professional help too.

Other Resources For Even Free Help

The only way I can explain this is by describing what I do for help when I can't afford it. I have a social worker in Intensive Psychiatric Social Work at the Jewish Family Service who comes over 1x/wk and gets me motived to do something in the apartment. (which is a mess btw). I can talk to her and ask her for resources and she'll look them up and email them to me..
I also attended a free group for Adults Abused as Children at Home Start. There's also the Center for Community Services which I could use. The Access and Crisis Line. Etc. I live in a big city, so there are more resources than a small town. The reason I mention all of these is because I do not know where you live or what the conditions are like. I have found that most organizations will take a reduced price or be perhaps even free for those who cannot afford it. Or you could give a donation of $10 just as a peace-offering. I really encourage you to find resources out there--even churches--(I'm not Christian, but I'd go if they would help me). Believe it or not. There are actually people out there who want to help us out of the goodness of their heart (or their job).

I hope you are able to find someone soon.
Take Care
Sigh:hello:

Tonto...........
As sigh says, despite the way you might be viewing the world and life right now........there are people who care deeply from the bottom of their hearts and they understand and want to help.

You've come to the right place and we will keep encouraging you to find help and not give up the battle. This is a very painful road, but you are not alone now.
