Here you go Reckoner. I hope you speak to your therapist about grounding as it is important.

Another thing to remember, that's very important: Breathing. When we stress too much, or have been triggered, we tend to drop our heads, and slow down our breathing. This causes anxiety. It's like we "forget" to breath.

Practice doing this:
Take in deep, slow, breathes, through your nose. Hold it a couple of seconds. then slowly, force it out until it is all out. Then, repeat that process several times.You will find it calms you and helps you to pull yourself together. Don't do it too fast, or you will hyperventilate.
 
Essential oils are really good, Abstract. I use lavender to be able to sleep at night. I put a drop on my pillow case. Sometimes, I'll put a couple of drops in a sink of warm water and wash my face with it. I'll do the herb thing with her after next payday. That's a wonderful idea. Thank you.

I did set her up with a place she seems to like. My only problem is when I come back to being just me, it's hard to get out of the spot behind the recliner. I don't do my knees very well, due to crippling arthritis, so it's hard to crawl out of there. She is so used to being in pain all the time, she crawls everywhere. LOL. Big difference between us. I gave up crawling many many years ago.
 
Another breathing technique my therapist taught me is to slowly take a breath but imagine you are breathing from the soles of your feet. Breath in slowly, feel your feet and as you continue breathing just feel your ankles up to your knees etc.., until you are at your neck and then exhale moving down your body to your feet again.

It seemed silly to me when I first tried it but it works for me.

Or confused. Hard to explain... just a very strange mixture of emotions happening tonight. Cycling fast, I feel like maybe I should just shut myself off and go to bed, but I won't. I don't really know what else to say.
 
Imagine the very worst of the worst happened but 9 weeks ago... and you were still floating in the middle of the ocean waiting for somebody to come and find you... with two little kids and no safety net.
