Neighbors Driving Me Crazy - Long Sry

Hmm. Strange.

Breaking peoples windows sounds like antisocial behaviour to me.

It's kind of a long shot but perhaps the police are investigating one or more of the group of chavs, sorry "neds" ha, I like that.
For a more serious crime, like drugs trafficking or something.

Or perhaps they felt that it would be too obvious that you were the complainant, and felt it may make the situation worse for you. (That's a piss poor excuse, I know.)

Hopefully it's not just because they are too sodding lazy to do anything about it.

Soooo, update. Homeowner sent a sort of apology, via Facebook. I responded. It was concise, to the point and took down every single ad hominem and cherry picked argument she'd laid into my daughter. I heard nothing (blessed quiet, is it to good to be true?!) for three days.

Tonight she came over, not apologetic, but "I'm inviting you to a conversation", after dark and dinner, while I had guests. I told her I wasn't able to have a conversation, because of above. She kept demanding, and I told her I had said what I needed to, in my letter, she'd not responded, and I was trying to let it go.

She kept trying to demand me telling her when we could have this conversation. I finally told her she should put in writing her response. As I was saying to her, because it might be better given the level of emotion, she walked away, throwing up her arm and running over what I was saying with fine, you want to be that way.

I don't understand people. I had multiple ppl read my letter. It was blunt, factual, and non emotional. I was polite when she came to my door. Even had witnesses. Did I miss something here?

No, you handled that perfectly. She's wound up and chomping on the bit. I kill these types with kindness and written e-mails. They cause the flare up then can't take any responsibility for being shitheads. The president of my condo association is like that and she has alienated every decent carpenter, plumber and electrician in the area. They refuse to deal with her. I just smile and wave to her. He-he-he!

Can't fault that logic. I wouldn't have either.
My response would have been. "If you must discuss this right this instant. Do here and now, at my door. Make it snappy, I am entertaining guests."

I finally told her she should put in writing her response.
Good idea.

What way? Like an adult?
Heaven forfend.

I don't understand people.
Me either.

Did I miss something here?
Not unless you threw something at her and missed. Still wouldn't be your fault if it was dark out. :sneaky:

People are special.

And of course, he's back at it today. Yippee!

At least he's having the decency to do it later in the morning. Didn't start until 11 today.

Am I an awful person that I hope he hurts himself with one of his power tools? Badly?

Aye! that's exactly right, the only time you see the police round here, is if they got lost?

That was all a few years ago now, and things have quietened down now, thankfully.

I am hardly an expert on morality, but my own personal moral compass, says no. So long as it is not a permanent injury. ;) :angelic:

Yeah, that is kinda what I figured.

At least it's calmed down.

The area I work in, is surrounded by mostly what is called low income housing here. Section 8 in the US and if I remember correctly, estate housing in the UK. (Anyone, please correct me, if this is wrong)

The way it works here, you pay about 25% of whatever you make.

Great idea in theory, not so good in practice. The upside is, that often the people who abuse the system. Don't pay their rent, even though it is customised for their affordability. They often don't stay in the area long. Though that does mean that they become someone else's annoyance every few months. Sigh.

It does also mean, being the very vocal minority. They sure stand out against all the other people who are honestly just struggling with financial hardship. One bad apple spoils the bushel, so to speak.
