After 4 weeks on Effexor XR, I have now been switched right back to Cymbalta with no tapering off or on.

Effexor XR does absolutely nothing to control pain, and honey, I have a hell of alot of pain.

I am also going to get a script for Neurontin to control pain.

Anyone have experience with this drug, good or bad?

I've been on and off Neurontin that was prescribed for Fibromyalgia for several years. It really hasn't done a thing for me. Dialed down the intensity of the pain a bit, but still in horrendous pain. The sleep is the key for me.

The only thing that has worked at all for me is Seroquel, an anti-psychotic. Sleep is good, pain is all but gone. Neurontin made me really fuzzy and dull and they put me on really high doses and I felt just gross most of the time, but still anxiety and pain was intolerable.
Try it and see. It is an anti-seizure med and they used it along with a ton of other things to try to rebalance my brain chemistry. I was on tons of stuff and whacked out of this world, let me tell you.
Now I'm just on the Seroquel and low dose. It is working.

Whew, I am glad it is working for you TL. It is pure hell to go through all that.
I am getting a script for it tomorrow. We'll see what happends.
