New To Benzos, First Try With Xanex

What should I be careful of? I understand they are highly addictive, the intent is short term to help solve a recent freak out cased by a trail of Wellbutrin(made me suicidal).

The xanex helps when I take it. .25mg dose and I've been cutting them in half, but I get a massive headache when it wears off.

Is it hard to stop them after you go down the Benzo road?

IMO they are very addictive and should not be taken as a regular daily med, only as an as needed med, though docs are quick to prescribe them as a daily so just be careful. Take care of yourself because no one will do that better than you. Be safe!

Please force yourself a six week period and that's it. I have been on klonopin for six years and I'm going to have such a hard time coming off of it.

This should be a short term issue to solve, the psychiatrist isn't quick to hand them out and that's okay by me. Ive been trying medication since March/April and it's been a rough process. Not much has been helping and they all leave me more over the edge.

I'd aim for taking it no more than once every 3 days or so at most. Daily use more often leads to dependency.

I spent a few days with the massive headache and decided the Xanex wasn't for me. Because I do need something(we are dealing with a near miss with me almost needing inpatient) She called in Klonopin? Thinking that maybe the sharp decline in the Xanex as it wears off might be causing headaches?

I've used half a pill yesterday(.25mg) and I used 1/4 of a pill today. May days vary....I am scared of becoming addicted to them.

Klonopin is relatively fast acting. How are you deciding when to take it?

@joeylittle Yesterday I took it asap because my psychiatrist wanted to make sure it set right with me(nothing is setting right....nothing!) in case she needed to call before end of day with a different option.

Today I was shaking and on the verge of being sick, trying to get the kids ready to go out for a birthday party. I felt like I would yell at them and couldn't control myself. I couldn't calm the shaking and nervousness. Took 1/4 of a tablet

Background.....I'm at the tail end of a suicidal freak out that was brought on by 3.5wk trial of Wellbutrin. It almost ended badly.....so I'm very frazzled, highly reactive, shaky, anxious and sick. Things are better now, but I needed some help.
