I acquired PTSD from two traumatic events which occured during my adolent years somewhere between the ages of 7,8,or 9. After years of repressing my memories unable to distinguish what was wrong with me (depression, fear of others, reactive, deffensive, sexually confused, etc.) I finally admitted to myself or was able to recall the specifics of the events (details became more clear or predominant over time) which have forever changed my life. Today at 35 (approaching 36) I am learning coping skills while accepting how my PTSD has affected my life. I joined the Ptsd Forum to gain encouragement, develop social skills, give/receive support, and better funtion as an individual with PTSD.
