Lions and Tigers and Bears, Oh My!

About 50 exotic animals that were kept on a farm about 45 minutes from me and were let loose somehow. The owner was found dead on the property. LITERALLY lions, tigers and bears. Also wolves, cheetahs, leopards, maybe a giraffe. Also camels. Many have been shot and killed to protect the public.

I was just watching the news about that ISH. They said the man who let them loose killed himself.

Sadly they had to kill one tiger so far. I hate to see animals killed BUT they are loose in a residential area so they must think of the public.

I didn't hear how many though. That's going to take them forever to get all them tranquilied if they are able to.

I really feel sorry for the animals when they are the innocent ones in this episode.

Actually, they killed over 30 animals. Saw a picture of an adult male lion. There was a real risk to human life and they acted to protect life initially. Since then they tried to involve the nearest zoo, but when they first responded, they were shooting to kill. A deputy apparently was attacked as he tried to just exit his patrol car. Not injured though. Jack Hanna, who has nature shows but is affiliated with the Columbus Zoo was there and was actually supporting that, human life has to come first. In an interview was saying that trying to tranquilize at night was not an option. When nearby residents called with a sighting, the animal would be gone by the time anyone arrived.

It is now being reported that the man who had all these animals had many disputes with the local law agencies and actually recently was released from a prison term. He not only kept animals he should not have but apparently turned them all loose, releasing them to their deaths or hoping they would harm humans, then took his own life. Very sad all around.

So true ISH. And it was the animals that really were the victims. They are just that.. beautiful wild animals. Such a sad situtation.

Stolen truck in southern Ontario. The truck is used to haul wood. It's been a slow chase so far. But then the trucks can only go as high as 105kpm. They are heading towards Toronto again. They have kept all exits closed to keep the truck on the highway. I have been watching this live on CTV news site. The truck will eventually run of out gas so the police are chasing it waiting for that to happen.

Now he's heading towards Niagara county.
