I'm an independant and can lean closer to either side depending on the situation. I hate Hillary and Trump and will definitely be moving to a small island in the middle of the arctic if either of them gets elected. I think Bernie is ok: he has a lot of charisma and says all the right things, but I've read a lot into his plans for his countries and what their effects they will have on the country. While I agree with some of it, after a lot of research there's an equal amount of things that I don't agree with. I'd rather not vote for him honestly but I'm out of options.

I seriously don't know who to vote for!

I want to exercise my right to vote and I know how important it is to vote but I feel like each option is the wrong one!

I spoil my ballots every year cuz of this shit. However, if we had a Sanders in Canada I'd vote for him, to be honest. My only option this election was Mr. CHILDCARE, HEALTHCARE, PHARMACARE, MULCAIR. Give me someone to vote for and I'll vote for them. Until then...

Determine what your core values are and find the candidate that best represents those values.
None of the candidates represent my core values. I do my research. I also know my core values and I also know that the issues that concern me the most are either not addressed or pushed to the wayside, by issues like abortion. Sure some of the issues are important, but I see them more akin to people complaining that there are rats on a ship, when the ship has a giant hole and is about to go under. They try to pit us against each other on minor issues While ignoring the issues that affect us all. Yeah, core values not addressed.

I agree, I like Bernie in many regards, but there are some things that I disagree to strongly with him on. Hillary or Trump, yeah, just no. Hillary may be the lesser of the two evils, but she is still too evil in my book. cooperate shill for the 1% and awarmonger, even if I do think she has so good ideas on some of the issues, the cons outweigh the pros 5:1

And be aware of what position your state occupies in the electoral college.

I agree with @Bill Dickerson - you go with the closest match to your values that you can find. But, it's also worth understanding where your vote will sit in the overall picture. It becomes even more important when there are more than 2 candidates. I think it's a waste of a vote to support a third-party candidate just on principle, if you live in a high value swing state.

Electoral college determines who the president is, not the populace. I kind of wish my country would re-think that one.

I only pay attention before the primaries if I've got a dog in the fight.

If not?

I ignore it until the actual candidates are chosen... Then I ignore everything going on in the minute by minute bloodfest on the babble box and do a little digging: Actual candidates voting records, published papers, longtime alliances, etc. Then dig a bit into their staff (campaign staff usually transitions into the whitehouse). Nose about a bit into StateDept & Pentagon top choices. Et cetera. I look for ripples. Then? If I live in a swing state, I vote. If not? I usually don't bother, and set the politicking away for another 4 years.

Whole process of vetting everyone to my own satisfaction generally takes about 2 weeks.

The months & years long OMFG! I might choose to be a part of if it were fun for me (it's not), or if it were my job (it isn't). 2 weeks. Voila.

I read Dr. Ben Carson's autobiography years ago. I really like him, and plan to vote for him.
We're hurting, and I think we very much need a compassionate, very-competent "Dr. in the (White) House":)

I detest Hillary and Trump. No way I'd vote for either one of them.:wtf:

Dr Ben Carson was probably the best neurosurgeon ever but he's crazy! I really hate them all with Trump as number 1. We've been royally f*cked on the POTUS elections! If Condoleezza Rice were running I'd go for her. She's one of the few who escaped the Cheney administration rather unscathed. Truth be told there's not gonna be any Carson or Sanders on the ballot...it's gonna be Trump and Clinton. You have to decide do you want Trump or Clinton! Facts must be faced or don't vote. But then if you don't (yea I know electoral college and all) Don't say 'Woe is me there's a lion and in the streets; I shall be slain'
