No Sleep... Night Terrors...

I have not slept for much for 17 days now... My body is screaming for sleep... But I cannot face it, I dread sleep! I suffer night terrors almost all the time....

I am adverse to medication, I know this is not the best way forwards for someone like me.

I have so many issues.... I am overwhelmed by everything... I don't know where to start... My partner has got to the limit of tolerance!

Will sleep help me? I would give anything to just have one good deep sleep... I have no idea if I can ever get that?

I just sleep for minutes now... Too hypervigilant for anything else... How do you turn this all off?

I have combat PTSD with a lot of other things thrown into the bloody mix!

Anyway any advice is welcome as I am totally lost now!!

Therapy, therapy, therapy. Yes, sometimes meds will help greatly. I know this is a hard concept, but keep telling yourself that it can and does get better.

If your not in therapy, please consider it....... I hope you can find some relief. I've been through insomnia and it isn't fun. Never had night terrors, but struggled with terrible nightmares.

Please take care.

When I first started down that road I needed to have a buddy around in order to sleep. In some twisted way I felt like having a "combat" buddy by my side I was safe. Now I'm on meds that help me sleep, though they don't do anything for the nightmares.

I'm afraid to say that there are no pills that will stop your nightmares! I've been having nightmares for years now, and they can really wear you down.

After a few nights with hardly any sleep, I take a Zopliclone pill, and that puts me to sleep, but even then, if I go into a deep sleep I can still have a nightmare?

The doctor only allows me 7 of them pills a month, and believe me, I glad to have them, good luck.

@Florian7051 i think i will buy it too. I stopped watching it as clonidine was added to my pain pump for my nuropathy and it has helped a lot but as of late they've started to come back some so would like myBivy as a back up thing.

I have this one dream that repeats itself over and over again. Where I am in combat and I accidentally (shoot, frag, etc...) one of my children. I immediately go to work on my daughter (establishing an airway, checking vitals, etc...) but then I lose them...

I started a thread about it as this dream terrifies me. I think if myBivy could pull me out of that dream before I accidentally kill my children that would save me a lot of sleepless nights and tears. I'm all about trying alternative medicine.

I just got back, I am off again soon!
Could you try to crash at a buddy's house one night just to get some rest? It worked for me. You wouldn't even need to tell him why I'm sure there are 1,000 excuses as to why you might need to crash for 1 night (fight with the wife, had a few pints and don't want to drive, etc...) just so you could get 1 good night sleep.
