Curling up, eyes forcing themselves shut. Started hitting my leg till my wife started me. Every muscle is tensing up, and it feels like my brain has tensed up too. I'm hyperventilating and can't breath. Don't think I'm specifically fearful or anxious, really. Didn't feel like anxiety or panic but was at least as strong. Just mentally and physically uncomfortable. Really uncomfortable.

It's pretty much passed but I'm still shaking.

Many years ago, in my early 20s, I was driving home from a weekend with some friends and my hands started drawing up and shaking, my heart started beating hard and fast, my breath was short and shallow and felt like I couldn't catch it, and my feet began to draw up, too. I was convinced I was dying right then and there. I pulled over at the first place I found, rolled my window down, leaned in on my horn with my elbow and did the best I could to flag down help.

A man ran over to see if I was okay and I told them no not even a little bit, but didn't know what was wrong. It so happened I had pulled into the parking lot of a veterinarian's office (how lucky) and a few of their staff came out and tended to me until the ambulance arrived. They ran a lot of tests in the ER and ended up telling me they felt it was a panic attack brought about by possible heat exhaustion, over activity, and/or dehydration as we had been camping/swimming/drinking. I never had another one that extreme even though I was in a similar scenario doing all of the same things many times.

That info isn't necessarily helpful, but I can relate to the weirdness of it being totally different than any other panic attack experienced before or after it. It's one of many things that still makes me go hmmmmmm..........

I'm not sure this will be helpful, but this sort of thing happens to me when I have an abundance of energy and feel emotionally charged.

Usually my panic attacks have extreme fight or flight, this didn't have as much of it. Doesn't mean it w...
Thank you for your post, I am having panic attacks and feel an overwhelming sense of fear which I think has to do with EMDR sessions (not in EMDR Therapy now and no more!). I feel like my heart is in my throat and beating weirdly and get cognitive dsyfunctional thoughts that I'm not going to make it. Creepy and very scary. And since EMDR (I was already having severe depression yet was using light box for help, this feeling of panic comes on strong when I'm by myself, and I try and watch movies, listen to music (meditation) some classical and step out on my little porch too for air.

Sometimes @GwenDR it feels like I'm suffocating, and other times it feels like I am going to die right that second! Hate this and please know that you are NOT alone! No. JJ
