Once More, With Feeling!

Why can't you be on them? Maybe a smaller dose than before? It's not normal just to cut you off like that!

Well, you're right, there. She did put me on a VERY small dose of Klonopin, which is a benzo, because cutting off benzos cold turkey can cause seizures, but she's going to titrate me down from that soon. They just don't want me on benzos, because I was addicted to them (even though she's the one who put me on them, and increased the dose), so I have to be on them. I guess it's kind of like how a heroin addict can't be on just a little bit of heroin and slowly ease it down. But at least they have methadone to ease the pain....

I'm so sorry you are going through that! I've suffered a small amount of withdrawal symptoms in my childhood, but not this bad. I hope you can sort this out and don't have to suffer through pain...

Hi Marcella. I'm so sorry to hear that you are going through such a tough time. From my knowledge you are absolutely right. Your Benzo's should not have been stopped 'cold turkey'. They are highly addictive, and should have been gradually reduced over a period of months.

I hope you have someone at home looking out for you? Either way, 'we' are here for you, and you can use the forum for support.

Try your hardest to look after yourself - food and water basics, if you can manage them, otherwise you will become weaker and dehydrated.

Keep posting, and let us know how you are doing. My thoughts are with you

Thank you, Cherryblossom. I know, I think that's almost malpractice. So many things that happened in the hospital makes me want to sue them. I just don't have the strength.

Thank you for being there for me. I actually live really close to my parents, so I'm at their house several times a day, including meal time. Problem is, withdrawal causes loss of appetite, so I just don't want to eat. I eat very little, though my dad makes me milkshakes to supplement.

And I drink like a MF, you don't have to worry about that!

Hi Marcy
How dreadful. I cannot imagine how you are feeling, but can only hope that little by little, day by dayou are at least feeling just a little bit better. The withdrawals must be hellish, but the days since you last had benzos must be getting further away. I hear what you say that it can last months, but surely it gets easier during those months?

I'm sorry that your experiences in hospital were so umhelpful. It sounds crazy not to be able to mention your PTSD. I assume nobody else was allowed to mention their diagnosis either just to keep it 'fair'!

Now you are home. In your environment, hopefully with friends about. Do take it easy and take care of yourself. Its not your fault you are in this situation. We all value you and want you to feel better very soon.
best wishes

Lucy,
I'm so glad to be home. Most of my friends live out of state, but I have lots of friends online, so I spend hours talking with friends.

Marcella,
I am glad you are back in the comfort and safety of your home. It makes me so angry  hearing the way you were treated!:stomp: I hope your withdrawal from your medicine is as quick and comfortable as possible!:hug:
