One Thing That Made You Smile Today?

Texting with my stepmom and cousin during a ballgame. ?

Although not all of the conversation was happy as my dad is having some difficulties and we were brainstorming, but I was able to interact with other human beings for a change and to share in our combined excitement for our team and reactions to ref calls we didn't like.

The timing that happened perfectly today, allowing me an opportunity to help someone that I didn't even realize needed the help, until it happened.

All I did was offer to return a grocery cart for a lady as I was passing by and I happened to be parked close to the return thingy.

She thanked me profusely and told me I was an angel sent to her because she'd been going through chemotherapy and it was all she could do to get one foot in front of the other.

Grateful for the humbling reminder that the smallest of things can make big differences.

Apparently now I have 2 birds wintering in the patriotic display outside the back door under the covered porch. While on the phone with a friend (longer than normal), they were buzzing me and lighting on the wind chimes or outdoor ceiling fan telling me, "Hey lady... we want to bed down now so get off the porch."

Pain as wake up time. :hilarious:

Therapist for appreciating how :smug: I feel over walking & not insisting on wiser plans... if doctors are optional I miighta give em a thought, insteas of hulking out at the wrong people.

Note to self, shit to work on. Help & Rescue crews dooon't neeed be fought. I'm a decade late on shit I shoulda learned.

dH is working from home today. He is on a conference call with some ‘important bodies.’ I love about my DH that he isn’t phased that both his recorded joining announcement and his salient points are punctuated by LOUD. contributions from our old cat who has decided she too is working from home on his knee. I love his self assurance that this doesn’t make his knowledge less, or him ‘silly’. It seems to me both incredibly funny and heartbreakingly beautiful. I know if she were our child he would be the same, giving her stuff to do in his office ( except when it was confidential stuff he was saying- he can let the cat and dog hear that)

He sure bout that pets point, I'd go check it ain't a Japanese spy cat or Scoobysmart dog.

Although maybe not, that cat sounds got a purrfact sense of decency and timing.

Oops. I watch too many spy cartoons.

While exercising on the front porch today, two red-tailed hawks circled the space above me for a few minutes, then came a few loud crows trying to hurry them along, then a squirrel ran past at turbo speed with a black walnut in it's mouth, then about a dozen dark-eyed juncos swooped in to feed on some seed.

Grateful for those moments when I'd otherwise feel pretty alone in my head space and such. Lots of action going down in the 'hood when I make time to notice it.
