General Palpitations?

Really glad you got your appointment and I hope you get to the bottom of it too.

I had a bit of a breakthrough last night in that I finally managed to persuade Husband to take my pulse for me - I didn't have a pain in my chest, so much as I was just so aware of what my heart was doing - and it is the freakiest sensation! :wacky: He took it, then looked a bit confused and took it again. Now I blame the fact that he's been watching too much Strictly Come Dancing... but he started doing a latin-type dance round the kitchen saying it's going boom-titi-boom-boom-titi-boom-titi-boom-boom-boom :roflmao:

Well after I'd picked myself up off the floor from laughing we talked about it and he said it was quite erratic. I was glad in a way because I was starting to feel a bit as if I was imagining it :sorry: So - just a case of waiting for the appointment.

Now, where the heck did that sleep fairy go....?

Yes, and I've had great success with cutting out caffeine, drinking coconut water (more potassium than bananas), and making sure I drink lots of water. Mine were to the point I couldn't walk across the room without feeling winded, and if I took my pulse it felt like I was missing many beats then catching up with rapid ones. I agree with others - it's probably stress.

Don't dismiss anything Toria as I had no pain - just noticed my heart beating, then beating weird, then the odd hard to take breath with made my heart palpitate over 2 full days. No pain and I felt stupid when they called the ambulance (Paramedics) as I wasn't sure anything was wrong with me.

On Tuesday it was just about as bad as it's been - I nearly passed out at work, my heart was racing, pounding, erratic - you name it - it was awful. Wednesday morning I got the 24 heart monitor fitted and....

NOTHING!!!!!!!!!!

Well, there were a couple of flutters, but nothing to write home about. They are going to think I'm such a fraud!

On Tuesday it was just about as bad as it's been - I nearly passed out at work, my heart was racing, pounding, erratic - you name it - it was awful.

Well that's the time to present yourself to the ER room as you don't just put up with it even if you are having a heart monitor fitted the next day. Sorry but don't mess around with heart symptoms.
