Physical response before emotional reaction seems wrong if not unfair

Ak, emotions can be incredibly inconvenient!!

I spent most of my life completely dissociated from my emotions, so yeah, when they showed up in physical manifestations it was most often pretty unwelcome.

But being able to cry at something sad is a totally healthy emotional response. And if it takes a while for the internal experience to catch up with the physical experience, that’s okay. As you get better at noticing your emotions, it will happen the other way round more often.

Right?!? Whether it’s a panic attack, or lashing out outta the blue, or tears, or whatever… it just seems like some kind of betrayal.

Shrug.

Happens.
