I've been dealing with this since March. What started off as what I thought was just an episode of low blood sugar has turned into full blown panic disorder.
For a while I was able to manage it and feel almost completely normal. Until I went out drinking for my birthday this past Saturday (July 19th). Randomly while sitting in a car full of friends in traffic, I began to hyperventilate. My arms grew numb and began to tingle. It spread to my face, just between my eyes. Then my hands seized up and I couldn't move, we had to have an ambulance come pick me up OFF OF THE INTERSTATE. All of my blood tests came back normal. I followed up with my primary care and the same thing -- all normal. So why am I constantly feeling sick? I'm always dizzy and this weird pressure won't go away from my head. The relief I have is sleep when I can get it. Right before I fall asleep I feel like I'm going to have a seizure or die. I usually fall asleep after telling myself it's okay, but upon awakening it all comes right back.
I'm only 22 and I am at my wits end. I'm constantly crying because I have no relief. I can't talk to my parents because they keep pushing for me to take antidepressants and I'm afraid to take them and I don't want to become dependent. I feel like it's my only option though. I don't know what else to do anymore. Can some please give me some advice or anything to help?

Hi,
Your symptoms sound like they are outside the scope of PTSD. I urge you to seek out additional medical help. I'm not sure what type of specialist could help you, but it is concerning that you are having dizzy spells and a weird pressure inside of your head. Some disorders aren't easily diagnosed and although doctors *say* that your tests are all "normal", that doesn't mean that there isn't something wrong---That is, standard tests don't look for everything. I wish you the best.

What Solara said, 10x. Some of the things you're describing don't sound like normal panic disorder stuff. I'm not a doctor, so I can't diagnose anything to you. Go ahead and get to a general practitioner soon as you can. Tell him/her EVERYTHING.. every little detail, no matter how insignificant. Including that you had low blood sugar and the test later came back as normal. Not all blood tests are created equal... He will want to know. If he doesn't, find a second opinion!

I've gone to three different doctors over this, and every time they hear the words, "I have anxiety", I feel like they don't take it as seriously as they should. Should I maybe see a neurologist?

If you have the resources to go to a neurologist, then yes, absolutely. What you are experiencing could be any number of things. You should also just have a full general physical, if you haven't. Sounds rough; keep trying for a diagnosis that really covers all your symptoms.
