Powdered Magnesium For Anxiety

Also good for inflammation, according to my T:

fermented foods, e.g., plain yogurt, kefir, kombucha, refrigerated sauerkraut, dill pickles, miso or tempeh, dark chocolate
cumin
and, as Fade said, turmeric

And to avoid many things I like:

refined carbs, gluten, dairy, caffeine

Cutting out sugars, and refined carbs fall into that, does wonders for anxiety. The magic number is between 17 and 26 grams a day. Less than 17 is bad for the brain. This includes sugar from fruit.I used to have a list that showed which fruits where high in sugar and which ones were low. Berries are usually low in sugar; lemons, oranges, those were on the low side too.

@She Cat mentioned the turmeric first. ;)

I would love to take an Epsom salt bath but someone decided it would be a good idea to paint the bath tube in the apartment before I moved in. It is all peeling and gross. It is also horribly stained, the bottom of the tub is literally stained black because of the paint. What is worse, is in places where I have peeled large strip on the paint off, it looks like a clean tub underneath. Sorry for that little tangent.

I will ask the office about that. I don't know if that would be considered making an alteration. But really, who does that? I figured maybe the people who come in and clean after someone has moved out didn't want to scrub soap scum left by a previous tenet so they painted it instead.

No matter how much or how little magnesium I tried, I still ended up with the shits....not very good for functionality in my daily life.

I was told by my dietician to take magnesium because I had irregularity issues. 400 mg a day and I'm great. I had no clue it worked on mood. You learn something new....

I've read a lot about magnesium for all that I have on deck and it has always been emphasized to use "chelated" magnesium. Have you also read that we need to take the chelated variety? I've ready this as well regarding zinc supplements. TKs. VB

I was just looking up the brand my psych recommended and it just said "magnesium citrate." He didn't say anything about chelated magnesium. I'll have to search on that. Thanks, VB.
