What a day. Today I had the blind leading the blind. Way too many new staff. I was running from place to place to keep things somewhat normal. The staff that had time on the books had no common sence therefore I had to watch them also. My treatment specialist should have called me back for another appointment but being gov't. she has not. I called her hot line to find out she is on vacation. Got to love the VA. Peace for now.

Hello sirsir,

Don't think I said Welcome yet, but here's a belated one.

Sounds to me like "You're rolling with the punches" just fine - you have more patience than you might give yourself credit for.

When it gets too "hairy", I find that if I acknowledge how I feel to myself and why for a moment, it's WAY better in the long run - remarkably so -WAY less blow-ups later.
(..I actually got that advice from a friend; thought it was just my "Irish temper"(ha) - but nope.)

And think of "Georgia on your mind"- that is, your beautiful lake and boat.

Good luck with all.

Thank you junebug

Well today was interesting I had a fellow staff member cry to me about how sad her life was. Wow it is amazing after listening to her story I had a wierd sence of my life is no near that bad. I have never felt self pity but I know I'm not as happy as I should be. I raised my meds. today but I don't think that was it. I ran some fire drills today which gave my staff a change of pace. Peace for now.

sirsir,

It's nice to hear your play by play. I have yet to post, I guess I'm not ready yet. But your journey and the others comments (thank you all) brings encouragement to a DESERT STORM & SOF vet.

I went fishing in a new Lake.

I took a day off work and went fishing. The water was 62 degrees and the air was 51 degrees when I put the boat in at 7 am . Wow the water felt cold. After I got on the boat I had to change into dry warm clothes. My boat was the only one on the lake. I did not catch anything but I had a blast. I thought I had the big one but it was a branch. I had to cut my line. We saw alot of wild life. I almost hit a deer on the drive to the lake. If I would have hit the deer, it would have been in the back of the boat. I love to fish.

I had a wierd dream last night. I woke up at 1 am. I dreamed that I was in a shed and could not get out. Other people were reaching into the shed to grab me. I could fight them off as long as I did not go to sleep. When I would go to sleep in the dream they would try and pull me out of the shed. I hope it was just a weird dream and not because my meds. were increased. Peace for now.

Hi sirsir,

Just a thought - you said in your dream you were in the shed and "could not get out"; maybe the people "reaching in" were trying to help you get out (hypothetically speaking..)

Don't forget, even worrying about changing the medication causes extra anxiety; I have confidence you will be able to asess it accurately.

Just for fun, speaking of creepy dreams, when 2 of my sisters were small, they insisted on watching a "Dracula" horror movie. They shared a room, and the younger one woke up in th night and said, "What's that smell?" She turned on the light and my other sister had a "roll" of Garlic Sausage Coil around her neck for "protection" from vampires (guess we had no garlic cloves)! eiy! :)

(Glad you had fun on the chilly but new lake- try to think about it and enjoy it before you fall asleep).
