It's a 100 degrees here, Scubachick, so thanks for the icey drink image and the water, on top of being able to post your pic! I'm sure we'll see you cheesing it for the camera again post-stroke just beautifully, too. My best buddy's daughter had one at age 23 last year and I just got a photo of her via email, smiling from the top of some mountain somewhere.

Ok here goes nothing.

Not the best of pictures but it was taken on Sunday with my granddaughter on her 5th birthday.

Hopefully I will have a better one on camera and not just from my phone.

Nice to meet you growingpains. Amethist, lovely to have a face to name. Well done to all who break outside off their fears.

I understand that many people like that anonymity off being online, but a face doesn't really change that unless you know someone else who is on here and want to remain anonymous from them.

I understand females not wanting guys stalking them, trying to pick them up etc, but this site isn't a dating site and any opposite sex who even approached you to meet in any such manner, quite honestly I would be disturbed myself. Trust me, I have had my fair share from females on here attempting the same... not cool at all IMHO. I don't allow others to dictate who I want to be though, I be myself and I simply approach x situation with caution if appropriate.

I thought that could be some valuable insight / thoughts to others who are concerned with putting their pics online. I have had reports from female members off guys trying to hit on them, and we have dealt with those on each basis, though it has only happened twice to my recollection, being that it was brought to my attention. Don't let fear dictate who you want to be as a person. If you fear being known, then it is good to do the opposite to break past the fear. If you do not fear being known, though simply desire anonymity, then they are also valid reasons to not disclose. Gates typically swing both ways.

Well done to all... and my recommendation, as this thread is really only a small sample off breaking through fear, is that if you fear it, do it... the fear is what inflames PTSD symptoms. Once you do, you remove the fear, thus you remove the constant inflammation off symptoms and feeling like a yo-yo.

Oh my, it just occured to me that middle age has hit. I read Anthony's post, and it hit me like a brick that my fear/dread is solely the stalking issue, and being 'hit on' by someone hadn't even vaguely crossed my mind! What a sign of having crossed some age related threshhold! :)

Gosh it's nice to 'meet' everyone. Having a photo posted here still freaks me out, but the more members who do it the less dreadfull it seems.

I couldn't agree more. I came here to this site thinking "okay, NO ONE will know WHO I am, where I'm from, what I do or what I look like" but I figure, what am I hiding? Sure, I'm in the middle of a lawsuit with the chiropractor that caused my stroke, but what can they do to me if what happened to me caused (or enflamed from when I was raped by my ex about 4 years ago) the PTSD? It's not like I'm saying WHO the chiro is or spouting off garbage or details that could be "held against me". I'm simply seeking help from others and trying to help others at the same time who are in the same boat.
