Im probably not the only marine that repeats that in there head. "Wounded Warrior program, but thats for marines with tbi and amputees" I know ptsd is a injury and hurts in other ways. ...
@Passypass...you are correct. I have many Marine battle buddies and have had many in Group as well. You are correct the stigma seems greater for certain groups, just part of the deal of getting folks to be "The few, The proud" etc. You just need to give yourself credit your service and our wound, a physical wound that has made physiological changes to you, your brain. Keep searching the site, there are some good threads where folks break out the physical changes that have taken place in your brain. Maybe, PTSD is not about what is wrong with you but what happened to you.

[QUOTEI guess the corps has ingrained this quality that I stop and think is this going to over my chain, is this going to make my life worse. So much going on in my head][/QUOTE]

Welcome @Passypass and Semper Fi!

The stigma is a bitch and is complicated by being active. I've heard that there is a firewall between the VA and the Vet Centers. They say that if you seek help via the Vet Centers it is confidential to the point that not even the VA can't probe for information. Not sure if the same applies with active Military. Been there for the past 4 years and it made a difference. They deal with the whole gamut (family and kids) as well. Good luck!

My PTSD developed after I got out and over my injuries. My experience with the VA was not positive but I have found in this forum that things could be better now. I hope so.

Anyway, welcome and stick around. Lots of knowledge and support here.

thanks again for the posts, been kinda doing the hermit thing, staying offline and inside. Not sure who to talk to yet about what is going to happen when my EAS comes up in march. My plan was to stay in but not sure if its in the best intrest of my health or if i would even be allowed to.

Got this nice USMC Shield from a buddy and thought this was as good a place as any to share it with our US marines
