Ok.....The phone call was awesome......he made me feel totally at ease.
He seems smart, logical, caring, understanding, very funny , awesome sense oh humour and just a really nice person.
The pictures he has on facebook show him in walk against family violence.where all the men put on womens shoes and walk in a parade. There are not a lot of men (that i know) that would be comfortable with that. i was very impressed by that.
He is on the boeard of directors for the housing help centre and he used to work in a group home with handicapped aadults, for like 13 years. my son has high functioning autism and he was at least knowledgeable and understanding about this.
So.all in all.he made me laugh and the conversation was great.
We are planning to go out on sunday evening.
I am nervous, yet excited. i told him that when I am nervous I shake a bit at first (it will go away) I kind of made a joke out of it and it was no problem.
So....everyone......wish me luck.

lol your starting to sound more excited then nervous now!! thats great!! I really hope you have a great time and remember everyone gets nervous and does things that they feel embarested about "like your shaking"! being able to joke about things like that really helps keep the stress level down and makes you both feel more at ease. Can't wait to hear how it went!! we will be thinking about you and hoping for the best!!

OK.plans are set my friend is taking my son overnight and he is picking me up at 6:00, dinner and drinks. OMG..i haven't been on a date in over 5 years.
I am skaking but UHHHHHHHHHH, i am excited!

As to your questions... kinda just went through this myself. Now your going on a first date right? Way too early for those questions. When you think that this could go somewhere, start asking.

I know many in here felt it was too blunt. However (yes the queen of mean here) I don't feel they are. I have straightforward, brutally asked my buddy those same questions. I've gotten honest answers too, with details.

Once I started talking about what is wrong with me and what happened to me it wasn't too hard to ask them. If they are worth your time, they won't balk at the questions, the ptsd nor needing to know certain things for peace of mind.

Just to let everyone know. I went, it was awesome. He was a total, complete gentleman. Opened doors, moved my chair, made me feel safe and secure. Definite physical attraction. Huge for me. He has kind eyes and he is soft spoken. Treated me like a queen all night. I felt so pretty and he kept telling me that too!
I am so glad I went and we are planning to go out again...so all the worry whew, over. The hardest part is over and the best thing is I have new friend and he is male and I have all the decision making power. He will let me go at my own pace. He was gentle and kind and loving and an awesome conversationalist. I took the leap and I survived, I am so proud of myself! I might start to feel a bit human again. LOL
