Acupuncture is empirically validated as a treatment, even though science does not fully understand "chi", yet recognise the body does have an electrical energy flowing through it, as it can be measured. Acupuncture taps into that energy to provide specific causes and effects from x points.
I know it works, I know the science proves it works without doubt... but it does not treat anxiety, it only reduces anxiety. Difference...
I used acupuncture myself at times when experiencing the worst of my symptoms, and it worked... even though I didn't believe in prior, the results did prove a reduction and I walked out feeling better.
I had doctors tell me the only way to remove the additional scar tissue on my ankle due to surgery, was more surgery, which produced it in the first place. Irony or what!!! Someone advised me to try acupuncture, a specialist who did that type of acupuncture, was trained in China and extremely good... he reduced my scar tissue by half, just from acupuncture... enough that I no longer required surgery to achieve the same aim, as the doctor stated they would only be able to reduce 50 - 60% overall. Physiotherapists and doctors had resigned themselves to surgery...
I don't pretend to know the ins and outs of acupuncture, but I do accept it has some validity in an additional treatment form for anxiety and depression relief.
