@Ms Spock when I first started on self compassion it took small steps, at those times when I was in self attack mode and was unable to be self compassionate it was simply enough to tell my self to stop the attack. Learning to treat my self as I would my best friend or my child. If I wouldn't treat friend like that, then I wouldn't treat myself like that.
That is most sensible, and framed like that is seems doable. Thanks shell.
 
I know I am doing a somewhat different thing, but I am doing it for self compassion as well as to make me Love God and others better.
You are right on track @SheilaKathy - doing your own version or brand of self compassion is encouraged. Even Kristin Neff says in her Compassion Break - choose the words or gestures that are meaningful for you. So you are doing what is right for you - and we will all be doing a slightly different thing as we tailor make self compassion for ourselves. You are on the right track, for your self and that is a good thing to my mind.

Wow. Compassion towards self. Just had an avalanche of thoughts tellling me why this is not a good idea and how I can screw that up.

I guess we have already started - but a lot less structured than out Mindfulness Challenges @Oasis we are already doing different practices in the private message.

@Aarow you are signed up - look in your conversations and you will see you have a message there. So look at the top right hand side of the page and you will see an flag icon, (that is for your alerts) then next to that is an envelope icon. Click on the envelope and it will show you your conversations.

I am using the three steps of the Compassion Break on a regular basis at the moment, and it is helping.

Kristin Neff has it on her website for free, which is generous. After the next bit I am going to read Self-compassion : stop beating yourself up and leave insecurity behind by Kristin.
