You're welcome I Support Her. I'm sure the people who showed the kindnesses and support to us during difficult times do not realize how much they have made a difference. It does stay with you for a long time, I would say forever. There are kindnesses that were shown to me when I was a child that I still remember and has helped mold me into the person I am today. I am thankful for them.

I love what you said ISH. Thank you for sharing that.

Second, that it is OK to receive gifts. We are all worthy of receiving kindness from another.

I just received a couple of surprise Christmas Boxes of food, this when I went out my door, no one had even knocked, so I did not know until I went to take out some garbage! I'm enjoying some taffy right now! I have not had taffy since I was a kid at the beach. How doubly sweet, once for the memory and twice for the gift itself and its sweetness.

I got a dozen eggs, sweet potatoes, a whole chicken, cans of veggies, pasta, stuffing, a bag of potatoes, some nuts and so on. I am feeling so blessed! My dog and I will have chicken with all the trimmings tonight, because we have an invitation for Christmas Dinner at my pastor's home.

Yes, I am poor, yes, my tree has few gifts under it except the ones I am giving to folks (but I placed one of last year's gifts I received under it just to remind me...).

I am happy and you reminded me that it is nice to receive too! Thanks.

We did this for my mom one year. She had helped both my sister and I out over the years, when we were poor students and then struggling families. We knew, though, she wouldn't have allowed us to return the favor. So we bought things we knew she liked and would need. Put the grocery bags by her door, rang the bell and ran. I think that's the deal with giving, it always seems to come back around to you.

You may be poor financially Sheila, but, from what I can tell, you seem rich in the ways that truly matter.

And some marzapan bars for H.

I love your cake and marzipan bars KP, I think I'll send my H round!

I love your tree Therapybackrupt!

thank you for sharing the photo of your tree Gizmo, quite the best tree we have seen! :roflmao:

'Like, like, like!'

You people are amazing!

Sheila, your story touched my heat as did yours Britt. IHS, you said it all and thank you for posting the photo's of your tree that also touched my heart.

I do not work, have no benefits coming in and have 4 adults living off my H's low wage so I, too, know what it is like to not have and to have others bless me. Like IHS said, it is not just at Christmas, sometimes it is out of the blue and then you are not only just blessed, you know there are truly wonderful people out there.

With all the doom and gloom in the world, it is comforting to know that beautiful, wonderful people exist.

Like you guys! :inlove:

Finally get to share our christmas tree! :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D
