And screenreaders suck sometimes, even the good ones. For me, it's one of those little irritations in life that sometimes is just a little irritation as it should be, and sometimes can escalate to a humiliating, insufferable frustration, which is when the computer risks a hasty exit out the nearest window.
And I meant to say thanks for the clarification about the login thing too. Before the site upgrade, I was having trouble with the site logging me off frequently for no apparent reason, while I was in the middle of using it, and even with the "stay logged in" tickbox ticked. Thankfully I haven't had a single instance of this since the upgrade. Unfortunately I still really can't find the log-in section at all at the moment, but can only hope that with the presumably altered screen configuration for a visitor/guest, it would be findable if I actually wasn't logged in at the time. Not sure if I'm game enough to test it out, but hoping so.
Sorry to everyone for whom this is ridiculously boring and irrelevant. I think I need to stop talking.
