Does anyone have a thing with smells?
I have to be able to smell bleach in my kitchen and bathroom. Even if I haven't cleaned, just being able to smell bleach is so satisfactory. I have to have a wax burner in lounge and drown my bedroom in perfume. I really don't like what I call "man smell"
Just a masculine smell. I cannot wash my partners clothes with mine or the kids as I can smell his smell on them. It's not a nasty smell just 'his' smell. He doesn't use the car much but I can smell of he has.
I also smell my arms hands and legs a lot. I smell the kitchen work tops and mugs, loads of things.
I have to smell fresh air a lot too and have windows in car open whatever the weather.
I have a thing for smelling creosote too. My dad always smelt of creosote and when I was pregnant I had to carry a paint brush around in my bag dipped in it.
Does anyone else have a smell thing?

Yes, I have a thing about smells......but I have a thing about using my senses, as a whole.

I'm the opposite with my man, I love his smell and he refers to me as a puppy when he comes through the door....I've just got to sniff him. I never smell myself though. I read somewhere that we use smell when choosing a partner....supposedly we are a good match genetically.....something along those lines.

Yes, kind of. Only I have a perfume sensitivity so pretty much anything that smells artificial evokes almost a sense of fear in me as I never know whether I'm going to react or not. But at the same time for me smell is linked really strongly to memory, and there are some smells I love, like the smell of wet earth, or cold metal, because of what they make me recall, and other smells I cannot bear to the point of physical revulsion, for the same reason.

I'm one of those people who pick up information through smell and touch, as well as the more usual senses. I find I touch things as often, if not more often, than I smell them.

I'm super sensitive to the point of becoming physically ill when in the presence of any artificial scent, dead flesh scent (especially in the frying pan and seafood aisle), cigarette smoke, electrical scents, etc., etc., etc. The 'super sniffer', as I've been lovingly referred to by some. Although, on the bright side, I've saved us from some potentially not-so-pleasant circumstances a couple times when no one else in the house could smell it...smelled the electrical heat smell two floors up from the hot water heater before it became a major hazard, and noticed a gas leak from indoors that was highly noticeable once you stepped outside.

It still amazes me, because I used to burn wax tarts, yankee candles, bath and body works sprays and body stuff was crammed in my bathroom closet, glade plug ins and febreeze was everywhere, used the scented trash bags, scented this, scented that, used that downy fabric softener stuff until I was in my 40s, and smoked at least a pack a day until I was 40, also. Then I learned of my endocrine system, along with the respiratory system, and how all of that artificial stuff disrupts the hell out of all the systems, even though we can't see it right in front of our faces...and how that might explain a whole heck of a lot about many of my ills...and I was right. It's always an adventure, with great potential to become a nightmare, trying to navigate public spaces.

I love nice smells. Really love em.

I'll pay a fair bit of money for a perfume I really do love. I buy very nice Incense sticks and essential oils. I love the smell of yellow lenor and orange and Bergamot Soap from lidl.

Food smells are good too. Hundreds of lovely food smells

And the smell of petrol :)

Cannot bear the smell of fisherman's friend cause of trauma

Cannot bear the smell of tar, not cause of trauma.

I have a super keen smeller. I can smell things that others can't smell. Just yesterday one of my customers opened up I their dishwasher and the smell hit me. She didn't smell it. I mentioned it smelled and she laughed and said, "only you would smell an order, I will run a cleaner through it"

Honestly, I can smell my own body smell and it bugs the shit out of me. Standing next to people I can smell them. So yes, I have a super sensitive nose. Sometimes it drives me nuts!!!!

My two main trigger smells are bleach and vanilla. My mom would "tweak" (meth thing) with bleach. I associate the smell of bleach with meth addicts, even though most people use bleach and don't do meth.

I love my mans natural stink. If a woman has one type of immune system and the man has another type of immune system the woman will find the mans body odor to be pleasant. There is actual science to back this up as it results in offspring with better immune systems because they have more variety in their immune system. If a mans B.O. smells sour to you that means you will produce children with weaker immune systems because you have same type.Gene research finds opposites do attract.

I don't smell well. I guess all of those years of chronic sinus infections and surgeries. I do love the smell of cinnamon oil and Lemon.

Even as a smoker, I can smell things that others don't notice. Bad body odor is one that will send me running to the bathroom. I love to smell sunshine on a little kids skin. Sheets that have been dried on the outside line smell so fresh and clean. I love the smell of rain, dirt, not potting soil, but just good ol' garden dirt. certain cooking smells, fresh baked bread, cajun cooking. The smell of cigars makes me anxious... an abuser smoked cigars. Many good smells.... coffee brewing, one of my favorites....
