Just recapping that the core of PTSD is to work through the trauma experiences as Joey mentioned. Usually its necessary to check every day and ptsd symptom management are first in place but PTSD is different in that the experiences need to be process and that is what really changes much else. Definitely some support and encouragement can help someone take action and do what they need to do to fix themselves. I hope this works out for you both. I would suggest it may be nb for you to continue therapy for yourself. If you are in a helping profession you don't want to get hooked into this relationship in a negative and that wouldnt be good for either of you.I have tried to encourage him thus far but believe that being more present daily may be what he needs to follow through.
