Stress And Living In A Sociopathic Society

I have this problem at this time. I am healing. I am starting to step out into this world again. But it is this world.....

I don't know that I believe that this world is an internal representation only (which some therapists have said to me 'If you think this world is dangerous, then it is'). It has proven itself to be dangerous, especially when I trusted.

This article speaks about the mass nervous breakdown that the author feels is happening globally.

I wanted to get your ideas about this? Whether you think the ideas are far fetched, whether the thoughts on how to regulate yourself in a crazy world might just help? What your thoughts are on the numbers of children (especially) that are taking meds, and adults as well.

Some may call this conspiracy crap, but we (you and I) are living this life... in this world. And I wonder if we are being trained to dismiss this type of talk so that we don't register what is actually going on around us.

Any thoughts on this? Thank you.

This is a looong article. I've started reading it, but it will take me some time to get through it all. I do note that in the first section, a lot of the sources of information seem very sound -- CDC, NYT. I haven't checked them out, though, and wouldn't want to make any definitive statement about the sources unless or until I can do so. I've been trained as a scholar and actually scored in the 98th percentile on the GRE for analytical thinking about 30 years ago. Too bad PTSD has affected my ability to study and analyze information.

Omg, I just realized, however, this all kind of reminds me of the dystopian novels 1984 and Brave New World. In both people take "happy" pills to get along.

So reading the article, the big red flag seen within is The Quantum Future Group. Basically, faith based group, viewed by most as a cult.

If you bombard in an article a bunch of doomsday-like qualifiers for the reason one needs to use a faith based/cult group method of getting better, it's proselytizing. Basically, preaching in your face using your worst fears in order to turn you into a believer. The article reminds me of Scientology preaching.

Interesting, because I am trying to figure out discernment as well. And I really appreciate the takes on things that I find out there. I really appreciate everyone's take on it. I know it is really long.... I am sorry about that. Somehow I miss the 'critical thinking' aspect that others catch right away. Pretty sure that is my attachment stuff peeking through.

choose good people
This is going to be a big one. I trusted everyone for some reason. Now I have some issues where I am swinging wildly as to how to figure out who to trust.

I thank you so much those of you who looked. I guess I have much more work to do.

I think too many people are looking for a fast easy solution to "problems" and drugs (prescribed or otherwise) look like the way to go. And that's good for the companies that make them, so they advertise.
whether the thoughts on how to regulate yourself in a crazy world might just help
The world has never been safe. None of us are getting out of here alive. (Leaving the possibility of the Rapture out of the conversation). Somehow, a lot of people seem to have come to believe that "safety" is not only a real thing, it's something they have some reason to expect. And, if they don't feel safe, they think something's horribly wrong.

I guess what I'm saying is that a sense of perspective probably helps.

As far as discernment goes @shimmerz , a good first step is asking for opinions, which you did. Beyond that, the first question I try to remember to ask is "Who's saying this and what do they stand to gain from getting me to believe them?"

(I didn't make it all the way to the end either. LOL)

I only skimmed the article. I do generally believe the 3 "fixes" though. I believe diet and exercise are important, the god stuff is where I differ.

The increase in kids with mental Heath problems I think is skewed by the increased willingness for doctors to diagnose and label. Eg My eldest has a label of GAD. I had to get it so that I could get a referral to a councilor. My eldest is fine, but counseling was a good thing.
