We don't ban people for grammar, we ban people for outright complete non-compliance to rules, disrespect towards editors, ie. getting angry with them when they are trying to enforce the rules.
Superjen was being an outright smartarse... nothing less. The grammar rule has always been very clear, being, basic grammar. She completely ignored the rules wording for wanting to cause arguments and be a smartarse. She has been consistently disrespectful to many staff here over the past months, and enough was enough.
Spammers are about the only people who are immediately banned, with zero redemption for being unbanned. Temporary bans are often used, ie. to let someone cool off, move past suicide, etc. When one member though consistently causes disruption and attempts to be smart towards staff with consistency, then action must be taken at some point, saying enough is enough.
Some new members don't always capitalise "i", and it is let go, or they write in sentences, a new line for each... and short posts are left alone and acceptable, providing it starts with a capital, ends with a fullstop, so readers can actually distinguish sentences. Long posts should be broken into paragraphs, with a clear line between each, so people can read one or two, go away, come back and know where to pickup again, as many read long posts that way.
There is nothing many with PTSD can do about it, depending on the severity of trauma upon the brain uniquely. I used to be that way, I can now read book after book, but it has taken me a long time to achieve... so the forum has always aimed at the worse level, which is where we usually all start, then that way as we improve, it only becomes easier for us.
