Relationship Talk About Moving In With My Ptsd Sufferer

My boyfriend has PTSD. Our relationship is going really well and I'm ready to take that step. We have talked about living together, he really wants me to, I have been waiting. I am now ready and plan to talk with him about my concerns and each of our needs/expectations. I'm worried a big change like that can cause more withdrawal. And with or without PTSD, there will have challenging times taking that step. Plus we currently live 4 hours away from each other, visiting about 2x/month for 4-5 days. We understand each other on a daily level, but not long-term. - There's usually a week and half break between each visit that will be gone. The only thing I've really made clear is that I need to work out problems with communication or I can't be in the relationship. But I'm finding it hard on how to express other expectations clearly. Things I need, like regular intimacy (not just sex), I understand are going to come and go from time to time. How do I express that? I can't put a number like, show you love me x-times/week. Any suggestions?

Also any suggestions/advice on just the topic of moving in with a PTSD sufferer is appreciated.

I truly hope things go well. It's hard to convey meaning in just a post. I say this very sincerely.

From your post, I think you are aware that there can be pitfalls. It's hard to move in and deal with all the potential issues even without PTSD. Of course it is not ALL negative by far. Maybe just going into it with the awareness that things CAN be difficult, which is different than saying they WILL be.

I wish you much love in the relationship.
