PS - I know there is a thread on this forum "you know you have PTSD when..."

Well, although what I'm about to say is related to that thread/thought process, I think it more accurately belongs on this thread. Here goes:

You know you have PTSD when your stuffed animal undoubtedly needs a support group of their own due to close proximity to your mood swings, panic attacks, etc.

Though, for the sake of ...reassurance...I will add that I have no doubt in my mind that my Mutsy (and everyone else's stuffed animal friends....if I may say so) is more than happy to be supportive along my journey of healing and recovery. :)

@NoWhereKnowWhere If it's a bad day (caged in my head post) I can send in me buddies!! Brian & Nigel can sort anything!

People sometimes think I'm crazy. If they saw me talking to a stuffed dog & a furby about my worries - They would know I was :D

Where is duckypoos? I think you need a hug!!! Xxx

Meet Teddy. He's very huggable and he's always there for me when I need a hug. I also have a 3 blankets and a body pillow in addition to my normal sheets and pillows because one of my triggers is going to bed and the edges of beds, and it helps when I surround myself with soft things so that I'm in a little cocoon of safety. Teddy always goes to sleep with me, and even though I didn't used to get attached to stuffed animals, I think I will be taking Teddy with me to college because he's my buddy when I need him. My cat also sleeps with me a lot, but I toss and turn a bit too much for her most of the time so she doesn't always sleep on my bed with me.

Thanks @rainy_daze .They are Buffer, Andy Pandy and Pauline (so called because she has a limp).

Buffer tells me he was born in China, but soon grew tired of the whole bamboo and mountains thing, so saved up and bought a flight to Glasgow. There he made a living as a pavement artist. He met some other street performers, and got into belly dancing. You can't see it clearly in the picture, but he does have rather a large belly. He found the chalk from his art played havoc with the fur, so decided to pursue belly dancing instead.

This took him to Iran, where he made many contacts who were useful to him in his later life. He also developed his skill as a pole sitter, rather like St Simon Stylites, a meditative activity he still practices regularly. Needing to earn a living, he moved on to running an "import-export business" all round the Mediterranean. He seems to be in contact with a great number of fishermen and boat owners in quiet ports.

This was also where he developed his affection for young lady koalas. Apparently there are many Aussies travelling and working in Southern Europe and North Africa, and quite a few koalas have travelled with them. I'm told that quite a few second and third generation koalas in the area have dark marking around the eyes.

Finally he reached retirement age, and hitched a series of rides with fishermen, until he reached Whitby in Yorkshire. There I met him, sunning himself in the window of a T.O.Y.S.H.O.P, which he tells me stands for Take On Your Special Helper Or Protector. We agreed that since he is bit of an old gentleman, and since Whitby is the home of vampires - as slain by Buffy - that Buffer would be a good name for him adopt from now on.

Oddly, two therapists have since suggested that I might have had another meaning in mind, but it never occurred to me at the time
