The Different Faces That People Show To Us

I do not trust charm or smarm. I can still be conned, my limitations can cause me to let my guard down. Not enough information with those that are vague either. I do not want to judge and condemn but I do want to be honest as possible. I have so much to learn still.

What are your experiences opinions and guesses about how people present themselves to us, treat us and what that says about them and how we can go about relating to them or not relating to them?

I have an aversion against people who like to represent themselves in a “certain way“. When I say certain I mean explicitly those who are moralistic/preachy, judgemental (Not that I am not judgemental, every human being has that tendency) Talking about the unreflected aspect.
When I read this thread suddenly some signals appeared where I say to myself “never ever ever behave in a way that shows you wanting to be liked“.

I have this strong urge to be very authentic (Again not authentic then) where I would never appear as I would wanna get liked. Usually I say things bluntly, “either you like this or f* off“.

Guess this is not really the answer to this question, just that I am dealing with trying to be something in order to get something in return.
