The Nhs And Being Taken Seriously

I would be tempted to put in an official complaing regarding that GP icefire.

If you can, find out who the partners of the GP surgery are, and start there.

It doesn't take a genius to understand that that is the most ridiculous advice regarding PTSD. And a GP should know enough about ALL medical conditions to realise that.

In the meantime ask to see a different GP.

Ice can you go to an emergency? They have them in the hospitals here. We have to pay more but usually the docs are pretty good. Do you have anything like that where you are? Big hugs.

I hope you are having a better day today. I am thinking of you. Take good care of you. You have so much going on at once. Big hugs.

Thought I'd just update everyone. I rang my local mental health crisis line thingy and they told my doctor I'd spoken to them. This was about two weeks ago, just after my waste of time appointment with my GP. I went back, as arranged on Thursday morning. Guess what? PTSD diagnosis and they're keeping a closer watch on my medication.

I'm on seraltine (not sure of spelling?) instead of Citalopram. Getting somewhere at last. GP said to stick with charity run counselling and admitted that therapy on the NHS is hard to come by, doesn't last long enough and isn't a whole lot of use.

Mine was on the NHS and was very useful. My T, would not let me go (in a good way), he fought for me to have extra sessions and won. He told me it would be morally wrong and dangerous to me not to have the extra sessions.

I'm so please you stood up for yourself but if you can continue to demand treatment - you deserve it.

Gosh. I am realising how much my shame and hiding stops me from getting help.

Ice Fire, I am not familiar with Savannah. Would love to know what happens. I too was advised to stick to charitee help. The only trouble with what I got was that I only received 15 sessions. Went to The Women's and Girls network. I have to say they were very good though.

Good for you for sticking up for yourself. Don't stop fighting for what you need.
