Just finished reading this book... OMFG it's hilarious and awesome to read. If I didn't have other things to do I would have read it straight through... that good.

I already have the second book, The Rosie Effect, waiting here to read.

Have you read it? What did you think?

Meet Don Tillman, a brilliant yet socially inept professor of genetics, who’s decided it’s time he found a wife. In the orderly, evidence-based manner with which Don approaches all things, he designs the Wife Project to find his perfect partner: a sixteen-page, scientifically valid survey to filter out the drinkers, the smokers, the late arrivers.

Rosie Jarman possesses all these qualities. Don easily disqualifies her as a candidate for The Wife Project (even if she is “quite intelligent for a barmaid”). But Don is intrigued by Rosie’s own quest to identify her biological father. When an unlikely relationship develops as they collaborate on The Father Project, Don is forced to confront the spontaneous whirlwind that is Rosie―and the realisation that, despite your best scientific efforts, you don’t find love, it finds you.

This is absolutely hysterically funny.

I read the Rosie Project last year and thoroughly enjoyed it. When I say 'read' I actually had it as an audiobook and it passed many hours in my car. I recommended it to a friend who got both books but she did not enjoy the second one so I have to confess I never bothered with it. I will be interested to hear your thoughts on the second one.

Based on your recommendation I read this book today...the first day of my vacation. I really really enjoyed it. I thought it was really funny. Thanks for sharing!

Did you read the second one and how was it? I need something equally as good for the remainder of the break!

I have... its ok, but I found it a little boring because it was like reading the first one, just a different location and a different situation. It wasn't as funny to me the second time round. Ok, but not great.

People often point out to me how funny The Big Bang Theory is. Then I point out to them that most of the humour comes from how exasperated Sheldon's friends and family are with him. Not so funny in real life. (She says as the mother of a teenager with high functioning autism.)

PS - yes, I've read The Rosie Project. Again, not as funny in real life.

I just finished reading "The Rosie Project" and I just loved it! ...thank you for recommending the book, your thread was what made me curious. ;):):bookworm::bookworm::bookworm::bookworm: ...I couldn't put it down because his perspective is sooo different, but also so similar to my own. I really felt with him and I loved it. Didn't have so much joy during reading for a long time.:bookworm::bookworm::laugh::happy:
