The Tigers Wife: A Novel

Read chapter 4 this afternoon... really looking forward to tomorrow's discussion on it. Much more sense is now made... the picture comes together.

Ok... how cool was that chapter? I seriously am now starting to like this book. It was slow to get started, but I was hopeful for a pickup, and it is achieving in my eyes.

The tiger walking through all that country, landing outside the grandfathers village when younger... the misguided story of the tiger being dead, when the butcher blew his own head off accidentally, scaring the tiger off into the woods again. I liked it.

I've been like a kid in the candy store awaiting to get that out about the current chapter. I shouldn't read ahead of myself I guess... I get ants in my pants wanting to talk about it.

I also enjoyed the chapter. Of course, I'm rooting for the tiger.

I loved the way the silly men went on the tiger hunt armed with an ancient gun which none of them could use.

I'm enjoying the next chapter as well, oops and the one after that. No clues though:cautious:

Now chapter four was interesting and ended up being a story in a story several times as the Tiger made his way from the zoo on his journey to the Grandfathers village.

The tigers survival against all odds is remarkable. An animal that had better instincts for survival even though he had been born and raised in captivity. Better than the villagers it seemed. This chapter was complex and led us in many directions, which we will probably pick up in the following chapters.

Interesting point Loloma... that tiger went through hell to survive, yet you are right, it overcame against all odds from being raised in captivity and in the end its natural instincts kicked in to survive, ripping the butchers legs from him and tasting fresh human flesh... which I now remember it ending with. I expect this becomes a problem ahead... as the tiger ignored dead humans prior due to the smell of the corpse, yet now has tasted fresh flesh. Look forward to reading chapter 5 tomorrow just before commenting opens for me, my time, our evenings here.

I am almost caught up now, just a few pages left of chapter 4.

The tiger now learning to use his natural instincts after being born and raised in captivity, show to me, how survival instincts can kick in no matter what your back ground is.
