Went for a walk to take a break from my assignment and came across a patch of ferns.
This is what our fern fronds look like before they've unfurled.
The shape of it, called "koru" in Māori, features often in Māori art, and symbolises new life and growth.

Sigh. First you don’t want pine cones thrown at you. Now you don’t want to be bopped on the nose with the fern. Is there anything else you’d like to complain about???

^^And they do look like the neck and head of a Violin - random! I never knew this and it was staring me in the face all of my life!!

I've got my quota of learning something new for the day done and dusted now! :)

I went for a walk 3 times today, but I did not bring my camera, as I have it set on close-ups and I have as yet not figured out how to make it do a long shot! I would like to say, however, the the red maples are all turning and their colors are just delightful! Maybe I will do a painting of one after I rest for awhile.

I found something I was planning to buy from a catalog for about 1/3rd less than I would have paid for it, so I am very pleased with my day. I also bought some groceries and carried them home in my back pack twice, because my usual ride to the grocery store, she is not feeling well this week.

Beautiful red berries all by themselves that I saw this past weekend. Beautiful little things are even more beautiful when they stand apart.
