My first therapist, who I wouldn't let be my therapist, was the chief of Psychiatry at my VA, in the mid eighties and he chased me down the hallway, yelling, "wait, I want to study your PTSD"!!! I ran from the guy, no kidding! Didn't know what the hell the guy was going to do to me. But I went back later and started regular, albeit, sparsely spaced sessions.
Red is right. It's your PTSD, if the therapist you are seeing doesn't cut, ask to see another. Same with meds. Watch what they give you and if it ain't working, tell them! Contrary to what VA employees think, it's there for us, not them.
