My husband was having one of thoes down days. And well I decided to convince him to let me paint his toes pink.
Everytime life sucks for me I take a bath and then paint my toes pink. I have all shades so if they are already pink I pick a brighter shade.
So with some pleading and some convincing him that no one would see his toes cuz he wears boots everyday he finialy agreed.
So pink was his toe nails and it took him out of his funk as soon as the color hit his first toe. He kept them pink till the paint came off on its own!
Ever since then I just suggest doing something crazy to take his mind off of whatever cuz you know asking... "what are you thinking?" and then trying to talk to them about their feelings never works.
If you think your man wont go for something like this let me put it to you this way. My husband Army Sgt. 2 tours Infantry and at his civilian job he bounces for a busy bar. So a mans man pretty much... it never hurts to take them out of their comfort zone, but in a good funny way.

Oh my word... that is too funny! I can just see my sufferer... 6'5" and 280lbs. I already tell him that he has pretty feet... pink polish? LMBO!

i think this is a beautiful idea - not just painting your husband's toes exactly, but establishing a silly little ritual of harmless distraction. at the historical level, the Dada art movement was a kind of way for European society at the time to deal with the mass scale trauma of war. Dada was all about absurdity, suprise and nonsense.

Well this is a bit of a stretch...

regardless i find this simple gesture of yours to be rather touching.
